Thank-A-Vet 2020 Is Coming To You!

Register now by contacting the constituency office of Brantford-Brant MP Phil McColeman at 519-754-4300 before Oct. 30th.

Traditionally, Thank-A-Vet is held annually at Assumption College School in Brantford on the last Saturday prior to Remembrance Day.COVID-19 has challenged us but our committee and volunteers have found a way to honour our area veterans.

Instead of holding the traditional luncheon in November, gift bags that include a meal voucher for two at the Sherwood Restaurant on Colborne Street in Brantford will be delivered to the homes of veterans, widows, widowers and Memorial Cross recipients. The 56th Field Artillery Regiment is taking the lead on delivering the gift bags, which also will include a disc containing memories of previous luncheons.

If you are eligible to receive a gift bag or represent someone that is, please contact the constituency office of Brantford-Brant MP Phil McColeman at 519-754-4300. You must register by Oct. 30th to qualify.

The gift bags will be delivered on Nov. 7th which is the day the luncheon normally would have been held.

“We want to continue the tradition but we also want to keep our veterans safe,” Don Spiece, a veteran and chair of the Thank-A-Vet committee. “This is a safe way of honouring them and recognizing their sacrifice and service.”

Don’t miss out! Register now!
